What are eyelash extensions?

Are eyelash extensions safe?

When applied correctly, eyelash extensions are safe and do not damage your natural lashes. People with sensitive skin and may feel a slight stinging sensation due to the glue that is used.

Can I wear makeup with my eyelash extensions?

Yes! You can wear make up with your eyelash extensions. Make sure you use an oil free makeup remover, so retention for your extensions doesn’t effect. Wearing mascara over your eyelash extensions is not recommended as the natural fluffy lashes will look clumped and it will be more difficult to remove the mascara without damaging the eyelash extensions.

Will eyelash extensions make my natural lashes fall out?

No, your eyelashes will remain. Many clients who have worn these synthetic eyelash extensions over repeated applications have experiences no breakage nor eyelashes falling out. This demonstrates the importance of having a qualified technician, who is properly trained for professional application of the synthetic eyelashes and uses a superior product. Once you begin the cycle of synthetic eyelashes, it becomes important that the methods of application and the quality of the product is key to the health of the natural eyelash. A broken eyelash can take nearly two months to grow back. If your goal is to achieve beautiful, thick eyelashes, have a professional apply them.

How long will my eyelash extensions last?

Eyelash extensions will last depending on your own natural eyelash growth cycle. When your natural lash grows and falls off, so will the synthetic lash that is attached to your natural lash. Also, the conditions that you live in can make a difference. If you enjoy hot yoga, your lashes may not last long compare to other people.

Generally, they can last up to 1 month, you may start to see them fall out and lose the initial volume within 2-3 weeks.

What is lash fill? How often do I need to get it done?

This is your maintenance cycle. If you always want a full set of dark, thick lashes, then lash fill is a must. Every 2-4 weeks, you will go in and have a lash fill applied to replace any lashes that have naturally fallen and where new lashes have grown.

What is the difference between classic and volume eyelash extensions?

Classic set is a method where 1 lash extension is glued to 1 natural lash. Classic lashes look more natural.

Volume lashes is a method where multiple lashes are applied to one single natural eyelash individually, using very thin lashes.

This method is also known as Russian volume. The eyelash extensions used in this method are significantly thinner ( Usually a 0.07 and/or 0.05 diameter lash extension is used)  than the lash extensions used for the classic lash method.

Volume lashes are lighter, fluffier and give the client a fuller look. Volume lashes are prefect for clients who want a more dramatic look without having to use a thicker lash.

Will eyelash extensions irritate my eyes?

No. Once your eyelash extensions are applied, they will feel just like your normal lashes – you shouldn’t feel any difference, because the eyelash extension is bonded to the actual lash, not your skin. However, You should be careful not to roughly rub your eyes though, as this can damage the extensions and your own eyelashes. Also, it could make your eyes a little uncomfortable.

How do I look after my lashes?

  • Do not get your eyelash extensions wet for the first 24 hours.
  • After 24 hours, wash your face and eyelashes daily, remember to pat dry instead of rubbing dry.

  • Brush your eyelashes with the disposable mascara wand daily.
  • Do not use cleansers, makeup removers or moisturisers that contain oil or solvents on your eyes, as these will compromise the bonding agent used to adhere your eyelashes.
  • Do not use eyelash curlers on your eyelashes.
  • Never use waterproof mascara.

  • Avoid blasts of direct heat as this can cause the lash extensions to lose shape.
  • Allow eyelash extensions to grow and fall out naturally, so you do not damage your natural lashes (Do no rub and pull).

  • Recommended time for refills can be applied 2-3 weeks.
